This nine-day trip takes you through the spectacular mountains, tropical forests, and high-altitude villages of South-East Madagascar. You will climb the granite peaks of the Andringitra massif, explore the rich biodiversity of Ranomafana National Park, and visit the famed Anja Reserve. This balanced adventure offers deep immersion in both nature and culture, blending physical challenge with meaningful encounters in the traditional highland.Day 1 – Arrival in Antananarivo
Airport pickup and transfer to the hotel. Overview of the tour.
Day 2 – Antananarivo - Fianarantsoa
After breakfast, departure to Fianarantsoa. It’s a long drive, but there are plenty of places to stop along the way, such as Ambatolampy and Antsirabe. Lunch will be in Ambositra, where you can visit a crafts workshop during your stop before continuing on to Fianarantsoa.
Day 3 – Fianarantsoa - Andringitra
We'll leave early in the morning for Sendrisoa, the gateway to the Andringitra National Park. After the car drops us off in this village, we'll start a 2-hour walk to the first campsite.
Day 4 – Andringitra
After breakfast at the camp, we hiked up Mount Imarivolanitra, passing by a magnificent waterfall on our way to the summit of Madagascar's second-highest mountain, Pic Boby.
Day 5 – Andringitra - Iarintsena
After breakfast at the camp, depart from the Andringitra area, passing through the Tsaranoro Valley. Then the car will pick us up and take us to Iarintsena. You will visit the Anja Reserve after having lunch at the hotel.
Day 6 – Iarintsena - Ranomafana
After breakfast, departure for Ranomafana. You’ll stop in Ambalavao to visit the Antemoro paper mill, the zebu market, and the Malagasy wine shop. Lunch will be in Fianarantsoa before continuing the journey to Ranomafana.
Day 7 – Visit of Ranomafana National Park
After breakfast, departure to visit Ranomafana National Park. The visit lasts about 3 hours. Then, return to the hotel for lunch. The afternoon will be leisure time.
Day 8 – Ranomafana - Antananarivo
After breakfast, departure to Antananarivo. It will be a long drive, but you’ll have time to admire the scenery along the way. Lunch stop in Ambositra, where you’ll have time to browse the craft shops.
Day 9 – Souvenirs shopping & international departure
After breakfast, departure for souvenir shopping in the city and to explore Queen's palace Rova Manjakamiadana. Lunch will be in city centre restaurant before transfer to the international airport according to your flight schedule. End of the trip.
